Simmer Down 2009

So to the naked eye, 2009 started out horribly for me. I spent New Years Eve all alone, only to go to work the next day, get thrown under the proverbial bus, and then suspended. It has been 7 days since I have been suspended and I haven't heard a word from anyone about anything, so it seems as thought I am fired. What a great start!

*insert silver lining here*
I have worked for CJ for 8 years now. It is all I know, it is comfortable, it is easy. All of that doesn't mean it is right for me. I have always wanted to be a hair dresser and I truly think that this is the kick in the bottom I need.

So, I am off to find a new job. Just a simple serving job. No huss no muss. Wish me luck!

Wish I Knew What I Know Now

So, today a girlfriend and I went to this AMAZING 12 mile trail in Colorado. We were both able to let our little four legged friends off their leashes and run. It was amazingly beautiful there, quiet, and truly revitalizing. I wish I only knew this place existed sooner than 3 months before I move.

I vow to learn all the great nook and crannies of Milwaukee when I get there. I want to embrace myself in the lifestyle there, rather than stay cooped up in my house shy and lonely. If I would have done that when I got to Denver, things would be very different right now. I would probably have learned the nooks and crannies of Colorado way before now. Oh well, We live and we learn.

It is offically 2009 in Colorado

So, I heard this awesome idea about New Year's on the radio the other day. So, we all know by now that resolutions don't really work. We try, and for a couple of weeks, we succeed. Well, in New York this week, a big group of people got together and "shredded" 2007. They brought everything from bills that they paid off and were done with, to ex's photos, to socks that they couldn't find the mate for. What an awesome idea. Why not think of the new year as a time to start over and get rid of all the "mistakes" we made in the last year.

Tomorrow I am off and I plan to "get rid" of all the mistakes I made in 2007. I'm not going to vow to lose weight and go to the gym daily, or quit smoking, or drink less. I am going to vow to not make the same mistakes I did in "07

Happy 2009...lets get out there and make it better.

Lots of love,
Kathleen
